One year ago I was floating in the pool, worrying about things like
- bathing suits + bloated bellies
- whether or not sun’s harmful ways can penetrate skin and amniotic fluid, and
- homemade ice cream and unpasteurized eggs
If only I knew that perfection was just around the bend:

YES!! Owen got to swim
Looks like he loved it judging by the smile in that last picture. Where did you guys go?
I don’t know what that turtle thing is, but it is SO CUTE. (And yet still surpassed by the cuteness of Owen.)
Looks like Owen had a great time! He seems like such a happy little guy.
On an unrelated-to-the-swimming-post note:
To answer your question, we typically feed Brock solids 3 times a day now–cereal in the morning, then fruits or veggies for lunch and dinner. But, as I’m sure you know (having a baby of your own), “typically” is a term for “on the days it works out.” We don’t get too bent out of shape if he misses the solids sometimes. Our pediatrician said he still gets the nutrition he needs from breastmilk (which he gets 4-5 times a day). The amount he eats also varies quite a bit–sometimes he’ll only eat an ounce or two, while other times I think he’d eat 5 jars if I’d let him.
Conclusion: Do what works best for you and Owen and don’t worry too much about “the right amount.”
