Coasting

Since E.P.T. abruptly signaled a near end to the us-centered lives of Kyle and me, we decided that it would be wise, responsible and prudent to take a week off from work to spend money we don’t have on a little getaway. So that’s what we did. We took a cruise from L.A. and visited San Diego; Catalina Island; and Ensenada, Mexico. Upon our re-arrival into L.A., we met up with some friends and hung out in a beach town. Alas, I have no way to actually prove the latter trip, since by that point I was in a lazy stupor and never flashed my camera. But I DO have photos from our trip down the coast.

Above is another pleasant view of the Fat Face. I blame it on the harsh sunlight and my husband’s lack of photography skills. Oh well! San Diego is also where my feet fell off. See the flip-flops? Not recommended footwear for a pregnant lady walking 4 miles. Whodathunk!
Here we are again, below, and I don’t think my face looks fat at all! Or this could just be that I’m distracted by the … peculiar caterpillar-like quality of my husband’s left arm?

Awww! How handsome:
The photo ops are endless

See how the above is a “scenery photo” without being ONLY a scenery photo? See how Kyle is positioned to showcase both himself and the surroundings? This is not the last you have seen of this technique. Like … right here! Here’s one of him casually displaying the quaintness of Catalina Island:

And yet another of him in Mexico, at La Bufadora, forced to poetically reflect on nature’s wonders:

 And, finally:

And all throughout, I worked on reading “The Historian.” See, I have this problem with “patience” and “had” to purchase a book immediately upon my request for book suggestions … because I have slight obsessive-compulsive tendencies and couldn’t actually wait for the book suggestions. But! This means that I now have a great list of Books to Read, and I am oh-so-thankful!

Hello! Congrats on your little boy!!! That is so exciting. James and I just found out we are pregnant, too! (we weren’t “planning” or “trying”) I love your entries and relate to them so much. May God bless your family and newborn!!!

  2. I love the pictures and your face does not look fat. I can still see your dimples. I really loved that picture of you and Kyle and the caterpillar. I am so glad that ya were able to take some time off before the baby comes.

  3. After seeing some of Shanna’s and Dallas’s honeymoon pictures I was thinking me and the “girls” need to take that trip, but I am now thinking that we may have to do yours also. Oh so much traveling to do!!!! Loved the pictures!
